How to Change the GWAVA User Password on SMG

GWAVA (Secure Messaging Gateway) 7

Situation

How can I reset the password for the gwava user? This is the user that I use to login to the server at the prompt. For example via PUTTY.

Resolution

To reset the gwava user password do the following:

1) From a prompt type: passwd gwava

2) Enter in the new password when prompted.

Example:
root@suzsmg:/opt/gwava/services/logs/gwava-10# passwd gwava
Enter new UNIX password:
Retype new UNIX password:
passwd: password updated successfully

The password should now be changed.
