Micro Focus Filr Desktop client for Linux
Situation
With the Filr Desktop client installed on a Linux workstation, attempting to launch the client fails with the message:
The Filr Wizard will be launched now ...
Micro Focus Filr already running, do you want to restart? (y/n)
Even though the launch process thinks the Filr process is running, it is not running. This behavior is only observed on workstations that run other Python based applications that are already running when user attempts to launch Filr.
Resolution
A fix for this issue is available in the Filr 3.4 Update.
Cause
Filr launch code was checking for presence of running python processes instead of checking for a running Filr process.
