GroupWise Disaster Recovery (Reload for GroupWise) Collector Does Not Finish Syncing To Reload Server - Error With Sync Monitoring

Environment

GroupWise Disaster Recovery (Reload for GroupWise) 5.1
GroupWise Disaster Recovery (Reload for GroupWise) 18

Situation

When running GroupWise Disaster Recovery (GWDR) while backing up the e-mail data using a collector, the sync process never finishes. The backup of the post office on the collector side is successful, but not on the GWDR server side. The collector sync begins, and even the GWDR server shows it syncing, but it never finishes, and due to this the GWDR server never starts the backup.

When viewing the logs the following error can be seen:

" A Remote Job Stop Request Does Not Exist
A Local Job Stop Request Does Exist: No Stack File
A STACK FILE DOES NOT EXIST - THIS JOB WILL BE KILLED
CALLING_FUNCTION to KILL = TEST_FOR_KILL - 3
STOPPED JOB ID: 1090 FOR PROFILE: R3COLPO1
Now running: REMOVE_GCS_SERVER_JOB_STATUS_FILE
Finished Creating Job Status for Profile: brcpo1 on Paired Reload Server
CALLING_FUNCTION to UNLOCK_PO_SYNC_PROCESS = KILL"

Resolution

The first thing to check is the disk space, both on the GroupWise Server as well as the GroupWise Disaster Recovery (GWDR) server. If disk space is low remove old backups, or allocate additional space if this is the case.

Second, this issue may also be caused by the PO_SYNC Monitoring Routine not functioning properly, or slowing down the job enough that eventually a time out occurs on the Collector Job during the sync process.

Disabling the PO_SYNC Monitoring Routine will resolve this issue. To turn off this routine:

1. Go to GWDR Web UI (https://ipaddress:5555) for the collector.
2. Click on the "profile"
3. Click on Configure
4. Expand Collector Settings and then expand Primary GroupWise Disaster Recovery Server
5. Look for the Turn Off PO_SYNC Monitoring Routine  and set it to Enabled  (this will disable the Sync monitoring)

Run the collector job again and that will stop the GRE_PO_SYNC process. This will allow the sync to finish and successfully back up the post office.

Cause

Running out of Disk space on the GWDR Server.

Issues with the PO_Sync monitoring Routine stopping the job. This will be fixed by development in future revisions of GWDR.
