Items deleted by a rule in the GroupWise client are never deleted from the device via GMS

Situation

A rule has been set up in the GroupWise client to delete messages, appointments, notes or tasks based on a criteria set by the user.  This rule functions correctly in the GroupWise client and the item is deleted and moved to the trash.  However it also shows up in the inbox on any device connected to the account via GroupWise Mobility Service.  A delete event is never sent from GroupWise when the message is moved to the trash and therefore it stays in the inbox on the device.

Resolution

This has been reported to engineering.  The current workaround is to manually delete the item from the device.
