Users need to re-enter username when Filr is integrated with NetIQ Advanced authentication

Environment

Micro Focus Filr 3.3
NetIQ Advanced Authentication Framework 5.5

Situation

Starting with Filr 3.2, multi-factor authentication using NetIQ Advanced Authentication Framework is supported for LDAP users as documented in the Filr Maintenance and  Best Practices Guide. With this integration enabled, when LDAP users sign in to Filr, they must first authenticate against Filr which then invokes the multi-factor authentication chain. When the multi-factor authentication chain is invoked, Filr does not pass the username they had entered in the Filr login screen. As a result, users must re-enter the username.

Resolution

A fix for this issue is available in the Filr 3.3.4 Update. With the fix in place, username will be passed from Filr to NetIQ Advanced Authentication Framework and users will no longer have to re-enter the username.
