Sent mail or appointment with blank message body results in the message being discarded when using the SMG (GWAVA7)

Problem:
When Webaccess 18.0.1 is configured to use WASP SMG scanning, when you compose and e-mail message or a Personal or Group appointment and have NO Message Body content (blank), the result is when you click on SEND, the message or appointment is discarded (not in Sent Items Folder, recipient does not receive the message) (Data Loss).  If I then do this same test again after first disabling WASP scanning with the SMG and restarting grpwise-tomcat8, then the issue does NOT occur.

Note:  Errors are seen both the Webaccess log (0404WAS.001) and the exceptions.txt file.  I duplicated the problem on 4-4-2018 at 6:57:03, 6:59:33am, and 7:01:11.

exceptions.txt file shows the error at the time of duplicating the issue:
  "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Content body may not be null"

0404WAS.001 shows the error at the time of duplicating the issue of :

  6:59:33, <SOAP>, -, INFO, test, Sent a Message
  6:59:33, <SOAP>, -, INFO, test, Content body may not be null/Compose.Action
  6:59:33, <SOAP>, -, INFO, test, Content body may not be null

This issue has been duplicated in house and has been sent to GroupWise development

Defect, likely on the GroupWise Webaccess side.
