Unable to open application when using CrowdStrike AV

On a workstation where CrowdStrike Falcon AV is also installed, it is possible to open an application without any problem the first time it is attempted, but once the application is closed, any subsequent attempt to relaunch it will produce an error indicating that a file cannot be opened.

Note that this issue could be encountered with other vendors or third-party software that performed the same pattern of Windows API usage.


Fixed in Client for Open Enterprise Server 2 SP4 (IR8) or later.


Certain programming practices can result in loaded DLLs being left open on the network after an application exits. The Client for Open Enterprise Server needs to correctly cleanup these instances.
