Environment

Open Enterprise Server 2015 (OES 2015) Linux Support Pack 1
Open Enterprise Server 2018 (OES 2018) Linux

Situation

NURM rights map using NetIQ IDM fails with "Finished JOBID-1 with errors. Error : null"

Resolution

Fixed in version novell-nurm-1.0.1-0.57.6.  The patch is available in the OES2015-SP1-Updates online repository. Run "zypper up -t patch" to apply all patches available for the server.

The fix has not yet been released for OES2018.

Workaround:
If NURM encounters the tree object set as a trustee on the filesystem, it will stop processing and return "Error : null".  You can work around the issue by temporary removing the tree object as a trustee.  There are a couple of ways you can find where the tree object is set:

1)  Check NCP rights:  View /media/nss/VOL1/._NETWARE/.trustee_database.xml and look for" <name>.[Root].</name>" and check which path it is associated with.
2)  Check NSS rights:  Run "metamig save VOL1 > /tmp/vol1.txt.  Check /tmp/vol1.txt for "[.T=TREENAME.]" and check which path it is associated with.

Once you have all the paths where the tree object is set as a trustee, you can use the rights command, iManager, or the Novell Client to remove the trustee.
