eDirectory 9's ' ndsconfig add ' returns Error: Cannot start 'ndsd' - return value = 10

Running ndsconfig add on the server to insert it into the tree.  No configuration occurs and the following is seen:

  Configuration File    : /etc/opt/novell/eDirectory/conf/nds.conf
  Instance Location     : /var/opt/novell/eDirectory/data
  DIB Location          : /var/opt/novell/eDirectory/data/dib

Starting the service 'ndsd'... Error: Cannot start 'ndsd', start manually.

ERROR: ./ndsconfig return value = 10.

While the LD_LIBRARY_PATH is no longer required while running eDirectory 9 it is still required for the configuration.

Type the following then try the ndsconfig add command again:
 . /opt/novell/eDirectory/bin/ndspath

Once the installation completes the LD_LIBRARY_PATH should be reset by typing:
unset LD_LIBRARY_PATH

Our utilities have the rpath set statically within them so running ndspath is no longer required.
