Situation
Starting with Filr 3.2, Windows Desktop client users can add Filr as a Storage Service in Microsoft Office 2013 and newer as documented in the Filr 3.2 Desktop Application Guide for Windows. However, users of Microsoft Office 2016 have reported that Filr cannot be added as a storage service even after meeting all the prerequisites for this integration.
Resolution
A fix for this issue is available in the Filr 3.3 Update.
The integration with Microsoft Office as a Storage Service feature that was introduced in Filr 3.2 is now deprecated. Filr 3.3 provides a Filr plugin for MS Office to provide the support for working directly with Microsoft Office files. Cause
The integration between MS Office and Filr Desktop client was made possible by making use of some registry keys. Those registry keys work for Office 2013 but not for Office 2016.
