Environment

Micro Focus iPrint Appliance 3.1
Open Enterprise Server 2018

Situation

Starting with the iPrint Appliance 3.1 and OES 2018, the traditional iPrint /ipp page is no longer available.  When going to http://<iPrintServerAddress>/ipp, the iPrint Portal Page is loaded.
Note: the iPrint Portal Page happens to be a secure (https) page.  The traditional /ipp page is not a secure page.

Question:  How can the iPrint Appliance or OES 2018 be configured to
  • load the traditional iPrint /ipp page instead of redirecting to the iPrint Portal page?
  • avoid loading a secure website to install iPrint printers?

Resolution

  • Open a terminal session to the iPrint server (putty or otherwise).
    • sh /opt/novell/iprintmobile/bin/ipp_page_enable_disable.sh --enable
      • Answer y to the Apache restart question.
    • Note: To undo this change, execute this command:
      • sh /opt/novell/iprintmobile/bin/ipp_page_enable_disable.sh --disable

Note: If the iPrint service is running on a cluster, the ipp_page_enable_disable.sh script needs to be run on each node while the iPrint volume is running on the node.
