Environment
Reflection for the Web (All Editions) version 12.2 or higher
Reflection for the Web 2014 (All Editions)
Situation
This technical note lists browsers that are supported for use when accessing the Reflection for the Web Administrative WebStation or client applets.
Supported Browsers and Java Virtual Machines
Reflection for the Web uses a web browser to display web pages, while a Java Virtual Machine (VM) runs a Reflection applet either embedded in a web page or as a framed applet (in a separate window). Use the information in the sections below to determine whether your browser and Virtual Machine can run Reflection for the Web.
Note the following:
- Your organization's security policies and local regulations may require specific versions.
- The Oracle Java plug-in for web browsers depends on the cross-platform plug-in architecture NPAPI. In September 2015, Google removed NPAPI support in Chrome version 45. Mozilla removed NPAPI support for Java in the Firefox 52 stable release on March 7, 2017. Support for Java Plug In continues in the Mozilla Firefox Extended Support release (ESR) until May 2018. For more information, see KB 7021593: Web Browser Java Plug-in Alternatives.
