Reflection for UNIX and OpenVMS version 13.0 through 14.0 SP7
Situation
This technical note outlines the procedure to follow to install and
configure LK450, LK460, or LK461 keyboard support for Windows XP, 2000,
and NT. The procedure to follow depends on the version of Reflection.
Note the following
- Beginning in Reflection version 14.1, Reflection LK450 is no longer available. If this utility is installed on your system, it will be removed when you upgrade to 14.1.
- As of Reflection version 14.1, the Windows 2000 operating system is no longer supported. As of Reflection version 13.0, the Windows NT operating system is no longer supported.
Resolution
Download and Install Keyboard Support
To install Reflection LK450, LK460, or LK461 support in Reflection 12.0 through 14.0 SP7, select Reflection LK450 Support from the list of Attachmate programs to install and click Workstation Install.
The latest version of the LK450 keyboard is available from the Download Library. This version is included in Reflection version 13.0 through 14.0 SP7 and contains the following fixes:
- Resolves a problem where users get the error “Unable to install chosen layout. Please contact your administrator†when selecting the LK450 layout.
- The LK450 (WRQ layout) keyboard support now allows users who are not members of the Windows Administrative group to configure their keyboard layout as the WRQ LK450 layout.
To download and install the latest version of the LK450 keyboard, follow these steps.
- Download the file LK1206.EXE from the Download Library.
- Close all running applications (so system files can be updated if needed).
- Double-click LK1206.EXE, and then click Unzip to extract the files.
- In the Reflection LK450 Support Installation Wizard, click Next to start the installation.
- Accept the License Agreement and verity your customer Information. Click Next to start the installation.
- Click Finish to complete the installation.
Configure Windows XP
Use the following procedure to configure LK450, LK460, or LK461 keyboard support under Windows XP.
- Click Start > (Settings, for Classic users) > Control Panel.
- Click Regional and Language Options.
- On the Languages tab, click Details.
- Under Installed services, click Add.
- Under Keyboard layout/IME, select <language>-WRQ LK450 layout, or <language> LK 450 (WRQ layout). Click OK.
- Under Default input language, select <language>-WRQ LK450 layout, or <language> LK 450 (WRQ layout). Click OK and then close the Control Panel.
Configure Windows 2000 or NT
Use the following procedure to configure LK450, LK460, or LK461 keyboard support under Windows 2000 or Windows NT.
- Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
- Double-click either the Keyboard or Regional Settings icon.
- Click the Input Locales tab, then select the locale associated with the language, for example, the "English (United States)" locale.
- Click Properties and, from the Keyboard layout list, select <language>-WRQ LK450 layout, or <language> LK 450 (WRQ layout).
- Click OK, and then click OK again. You can now exit Control Panel.
Configure Reflection
You must configure Reflection for the LK450 keyboard for all operating systems. To do this, follow the steps below:
- Click Setup > Keyboard Map.
- Click Keyboards to open the Keyboard Setup dialog box.
- Select US DEC LK450 in the PC list.
- Click OK, and then click OK in the Keyboard Map Setup dialog box.
