Environment

Reflection Windows-based Products version 13.0 through 14.x

Situation

An installation of Reflection may be needed if some non-critical files are deleted, if there is a problem with the Reflection registry settings, or if there is a problem with the Reflection shortcuts.

Resolution

The process for repairing a Reflection installation varies by operating system.

Note: Users must have access to the original source used to install Reflection, such as the product CD, the network location of images, or the administrative installation to perform the repair. Users will be prompted if the source is not available.

Windows XP and Windows 2000

To repair a Reflection installation in Windows XP or Windows 2000, follow the steps below.

  1. Access Add/Remove Programs.

In Windows XP: Click Start > Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.

In Windows 2000: Click Start > Settings > Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.

  1. Select your Reflection product from the Currently installed programs list.
  2. Click the "Click here for support information" link.
  3. In the Support Info dialog box, click Repair to start the repair.

Using an MSI Command Line Switch

MSI is responsible for copying files, updating the Registry for both the Local machine and user, and creating shortcuts and icons. Use the following MSI command line switch to repair a Reflection installation: Replace <Reflect> with the .MSI file name for your product, for example, Mp140ilw.msi or Sx140ilw.msi in Reflection 14.0.

MSIEXEC /focums <path>\<Reflect>.msi
