Environment

Redline installed on NetWare

Situation

NetWare is reporting a memory allocation error from the Redline Agent. The agent is requesting too much memory.

Resolution

- In some cases the Redline Agent must process a large log file. This can happen frequently. To get around this, download the latest version of Redline from here, then make sure "CompressData=enabled" is configured in every redline agent in the global settings section of the rlagent.conf and restart the agent. This reduces the memory needed by the Agent dramatically (instead of 100MB needed to process some logfiles, only 1MB is needed).

ALTERNATIVE SETUP:

- You may configure your Redline system to monitor from a single access point on a linux box. See the knowlegdebase article: "Using Redline On Linux To Monitor GroupWise/NetWare Agents"
