Situation

While running a job using the GroupWise Archive Migration an error occurs:

[5/2/2012 3:01:09 PM][DEBUG] Archive Path: C:\user1Archive [5/2/2012 3:01:09 PM][INFO] Logged in as user: user1@gwava.com [5/2/2012 3:01:09 PM][INFO] Connected to archive at path: C:\user1Archive [5/2/2012 3:01:10 PM][ERROR] Exception: Error getting UUID.

No mail is archived for the user.

Resolution

The error can be caused by various reasons.

1) The user does not exist on the GroupWise system.

2) The Visibility for the user in the GroupWise system  is too low.

1) Open ConsoleOne and connect to your GroupWise Domain

2) Go to the GroupWise Users list and open the properties for the user that is causing the error.

3) Select the GroupWise tab and make sure that the Visibility is set to System.

4) Click OK or Apply to save changes.

3) There is a problem with the archive for the specific mailbox listed in the error. Run a GWCHECK to solve the problem.

Note: If the archive is on a network drive, it is recommended to copy the archive to the local machine C:\ and then run the GWCHECK. Copy the archive back when finished.

1) Navigate and run the GWHECK.exe file. Usually this is found in the Software Distribution Directory under GROUPWISE\admin\Utility\GWCHECK

2) Select Archive for Database Type and browse to the Database Path and select the archive database.

3) In the drop down menu select Analyze/Fix Databases and select the following options:

Structure

Index Check

Contents

Collect Statistics (optional)

Attachment File Check

Fix Problems

4) Object Type should be left at User/Resource.

5)  For the Databases Tab at the bottom make sure User and Message are checked.

6)  Click Run

Once that is finished it is always good to run the GWCHECK one more time on the archive just to make sure it corrected the errors.
