What is the Global Check Box Under Signatures

When looking at the Signature of a mail box in Vertigo, it shows a check box under Global. What does this check box do?

A global signature is created in ConsoleOne and appended to messages after any personal signatures that users create for themselves.
Currently Vertigo cannot set a signature to be global. The check box will only show if a signature is global or not.
