How to Exclude a Specific Folder from Archiving

How can I exclude a specific folder from being archived by Retain?

Normally, you want to include all folders in your scan. However, you may have specific reasons to include or exclude folders, so Retain includes the option to do so. Log in to your Retain server and go to Data Collection | Profiles | [Select the profile you wish to modify] | Advanced | Folder Scope. There are three options for modifying the folder scope. Normally, the option “Items from All Folders” is selected. In this case, however, you'll select “All folders EXCEPT those listed below”.

Click the Add button. Choose a folder root from the drop-down option, such as Work In Progress, then you can specify an optional subfolder or select the checkbox to include all subfolders. Then save the changes you have made. The folder you specified will now be excluded from archiving.
