Migrating GWAVA 4 GWIA Scanner from Netware to Linux

Situation

How do you migrate GWAVA 4 from a Netware server  using a GWIA Scanner to a Linux server without losing any settings? To migrate GWAVA 4 from a NetWare server using an MTA scanner to a Linux server visit: Migrating MTA Scanner from NetWare to Linux

Resolution


1) Install GWAVA 4 on Linux using the latest installation package.

2) Shut down GWAVA on the Linux server (rcgwavaman stop)

3) Shut down GWAVA on the Netware server (gwavadn)

4) From the Netware server copy  the config and the services directory and copy over the top of the directories in the /opt/beginfinte/gwava directory on the Linux server.

5) Start GWAVA on the Linux server (rcgwavaman start).

6) Go to the GWAVAMAN Management Console (ipaddress:49282)
  Note: Use the Linux server ip address:49282

7) Navigate to: server/scanner management/"server"/server management/configure server

8) Change the IPs and server information to reflect your Linux server.



 

9) Navigate to: server/scanner management/"server"/manage scanners/Configure GWIA settings/mail interface settings.

10) Change the GWIA path as well to reflect the GWIA on your Linux server.





 11) Restart gwava (rcgwavaman restart)
