GWAVA 4 / 5 / 6
SMTP scanner

Situation

How to specify where GWAVA sends outbound mail

Resolution

If GWAVA is required to relay outbound messages to a specific location, rather than to the internet, then GWAVA needs to use a destination relay server.

Note: This feature only works with SMTP scanners.

GWAVA 6:
1) Open the GWAVA Management Console, and browse to the 'Interface settings' menu.
In your web browser's address bar, type the URL http://[GWAVA IP address]:49282.  Where 'GWAVA IP address' is the IP address or hostname of the GWAVA server.

Then in the left-side menu, drill down to 'Server / Interface Management - [GWAVA server] - Manage Interfaces - [Interface name] - Interface settings'

2) Make the desired changes in the 'Optional SMTP settings"
Expand the "Show optional SMTP settings" menu, and in the field labeled "Destination message relay server", specify the IP address where GWAVA will send its outbound messages.

The other options can also be configured as needed if there is a need for encryption or authorization.

Click the 'Save Changes' icon, and then GWAVA should begin to relay outbound messages to the destination specified.

GWAVA 4/5:
1) Open the GWAVA Management Console, and browse to the 'Mail Interface settings' menu.
In your web browser's address bar, type the URL http://[GWAVA IP address]:49282.  Where 'GWAVA IP address' is the IP address or hostname of the GWAVA server.

Then in the left-side menu, drill down to 'Server/Scanner management - [GWAVA server] - Manage Scanners - [Scanner name](SMTP) - Configure SMTP settings - Mail Interface settings'

2) Make the desired changes in the 'Optional SMTP settings"
Expand the "Show optional SMTP settings" menu, and in the field labeled "Outbound message relay server", specify the IP address where GWAVA will send its outbound messages.

The other options can also be configured as needed if there is a need for encryption or authorization.

Click the 'Save Changes' icon, and then GWAVA should begin to relay outbound messages to the destination specified.
