Cannot Access Quarantine or Release Messages From Digest Outside of the Network

Environment


GWAVA 4, 5, & 6
NETWARE 6.5, 6.0, 5.1
LINUX OES 9, SLES 9.3, SLES 10

Situation

Can't release messages from outside the network. Digest releases address is an address inside the network. Digests work from the office, but not at home.

Resolution



1.  Log into the Quarantine Manager as an administrator

2.  Select the Digest tab.

3.  Select the Settings sub tab.


4.  In the Release Button Address field, enter the public domain, or IP address.  Make sure you include the http:// as well as the port 49285 (example: http://mail.gwava.com:49285).

5.  Set the firewall to allow port 49285 traffic, and if necessary, route that port traffic to the server with QMS (GWAVA) running on it.

6.  Save Changes, and log out.
The digest release should reflect the newly set address.  All old digests will retain the old IP address.
