Channel Upgrade through OES fails with error on HTTP service

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 4 (SLES 11 SP4)
Open Enterprise Server 11 SP3 (OES11 SP3)

Situation

The following error message appears when initiating the channel update through YaST:

Configuring HTTP service...Failed to configure HTTP service: no suck entry err=-601

ERROR: /opt/novell/eDirectory/bin/ndsconfig return value=68

Resolution

  1. From iManager, please delete the existing HTTP object of the server as it is likely corrupt and can be regenerated.
    Note: The Http Server object will exist in the same container as the server object itself.

  2. From a terminal on the server, please run the following command to recreate the HTTP object:
    ndsconfig upgrade -j

  3. Proceed with the Channel Upgrade through OES.
