Environment

Micro Focus Filr 3.1 Desktop client
Micro Focus Filr 3.0 Desktop client

Situation

Using Microsoft Office, if a user tries to save a PDF version of the file directly inside one of the Filr folders using the option Print > Microsoft Print to PDF, the operation fails with one of the following errors:

Windows Cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup
or
The system cannot find the file specified. C:\Users\jdoe\Filr\My Files\sample-doc.pdf

Note that if the user tries to save the PDF to any other location outside of the Filr area, the file is saved without problems.

Resolution

A fix for this issue is available in the Filr 3.2 Update. With the fix in place, users are able to save directly inside Filr folders using the Microsoft Print to PDF option.

Additional Information

With the Filr 3.2 fix in place, in some instances, where the user attempts to save the file repeatedly within 10-15 seconds, a generic "Invalid Handle" error was thrown and the file was not saved. Repeating the save operation after 25-30 seconds resolved the problem. This specific issue is currently under investigation (Bug 1042682).
