Environment

GWAVA 4 SMTP Scanner Build 117 and above Netware and Linux

Situation

I am running GWAVA 4 on Netware and would like to use an SMTP scanner with IP reputation. Is that possible?

Resolution

IP reputation is only supported on Linux. However, since you can configure the IP reputation service connection address, you can use IP reputation with an SMTP scanner running on Netware if you have GWAVA 4 running on a Linux server somewhere else on your network. To change the IP reputation service connection address, go to: 1)    Server/Scanner Management | [your server] | Server management | SigSpam / IPRep agent setup. 2)    Change the IP reputation service connection address from the loopback address to the address of your Linux server that is running GWAVA 4. 3)    Enable IP reputation connection drop. 4)    Restart GWAVA 4 on the Netware server for the changes to take effect. If you do not currently have a Linux server running GWAVA 4 on your network, then you can easily set one up by using our GWAVA 4 SMTP Appliance.
