Exclusion paths from anti-virus scans on Linux

Situation

After installing eDirectory or Access Manager components (Admin console), configure your environment to exclude the DIB directory from any antivirus scans. If you do not exclude the DIB directory from processes of this type, you may encounter the following issues:
  • Corrupted DIB files
  • -618 FFFFFD96 INCONSISTENT DATABASE errors.
  • High utilization
  • Slow or Unresponsive servers

Resolution

Exclude the following directories on the eDirectory servers:
  • Dib folder - the default path is /var/opt/novell/eDirectory/data/dib.
  • Nici folder - /var/opt/novell/nici

Exclude the following directories on the NAM Admin Console servers:

  • Dib folder - the default path is /var/opt/novell/eDirectory/data/dib.
  • Nici folder - /var/opt/novell/nici
  • /var/opt/novell/nam/logs/adminconsole
Exclude the following directories on the NAM IDP servers:
  • /var/opt/novell/nam/logs/idp
  • /var/opt/novell/nam/logs/jcc
  • /var/opt/messages

Exclude the following directories on the NAM Access Gateway servers:
  • /var/opt/novell/amlogging/log
  • /var/log/apache2
  • /var/opt/novell/nam/logs/jcc
  • /var/opt/novell/log
