Environment

Reload (all versions)

Situation

I want to make the Reload administration web page available, but secure so only a specific user can access it.

Resolution

Securing the Reload administration web page is simple. You can set-up a username and password for the site as well as enabling SSL for secure connections. This can be done from Reload Administration.

Go to Administer System | Daemon HTTP Configuration. Here you can enable SSL for Daemon HTTP Page, which will force the use of https.

Note: When you access the administration web page, http is not automatically redirected to https, so you must enter https in the url. You can also set the site to require authentication.

Enable the option Require Password for HTTP Page. Then you will want to set up a username and password.

Select the option Daemon HTTP Page User to enter a username.

Select Daemon HTTP Page User’s Password to enter a password for that username. The site is now secured against unauthorized access.
