Environment

GWAVA 4 (all builds) on Netware and Linux MTA Scanner

Situation

Messages backing up in ...\MSLOCAL\GWVSCAN\4 directory No mail flow

Resolution

When using an MTA scanner, messages will be sent to the GWVSCAN directory to be processed by GWAVA.  Follow these steps to get mail flowing again:

1)  Restart GWAVA.  Oftentimes, this simple procedure will resolve the issue

2)  If mail is still not flowing, you'll need to shut down GWAVA and the MTA for the next few steps

3)  Delete the following folders from your ...\GWAVA4\services directory:  any folder beginning with 'gwava_'

4)  Rename your GWVSCAN directory to GWVSCAN.old and restart GWAVA and the MTA

Note:  Remember to move all mail from old GWVSCAN directory to domain/wpcsIN after mail flow is back to normal.  When moving files, maintain the same sub directories (GWVSCAN.old\4\ ---> domain/gwvscan\4\)

If mail is still not flowing, please call technical support
