Environment

GWAVA 4+ ** SLES 10.2 **

Situation

What is the procedure for enabling core dumps on a Linux machine?

Resolution

In order to enable core dumps, the version of Linux must be at least SLES10 SP2.  If the version is earlier than SLES10 this will not work and could cause major problems.

Here are the steps to enable core dumps on the Linux machine:
1) Login to the Linux machine and browse to /opt/beginfinite/gwava/assets/scripts

2) Run the command ./set_core.sh on

3) Restart the Server

The core dumps will now be located in /var/dumps if there is ever a GWAVA crash.
