How to setup the share?
Resolution
It is preferred that the Retain Worker be installed on the BES to provide direct file access to the logfiles. However, we understand that can’t always be the case.
You can setup a shared folder on the BES and have the Retain server attach to it.
When configuring a shared folder for the Retain Worker you must share the parent of the logfile directory on the BES so that the Retain Worker has the proper rights to all the logfile directories.
For example, if the BES is on 10.1.1.1 and the RetainWorker is on the RetainServer on 10.1.2.3.
You need to set a share (for example, "Z:") to the logfile directories that are in the default location of "C:\Program Files (x86)\Research in Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server".
In the BlackBerry module you set the Logfile path to Z:\Logs
