Environment

Reload 2.5 Build 25551

Situation

How do you setup the Mail Configuration Notifications within Reload?

Reload has the ability to send notifications to any e-mail address. Usually the address would be the e-mail administrator of the system.  These notifications provide information for the administrator that shows them if a backup was successful, if there are any errors during the backup, and may also include the event logs for extra detail on the errors or the backups.

Resolution

In order for this to work you must fill in both addresses in the Error-Preferences Section, and the Completion-Preferences section.    Even if  you are only wanting notify errors you still must fill in both sections in order for this to work.

    1. Enter the Reload Administration interface (Reload)
    2. From the Main Menu select  System   Administer System
    3. Select Mailer  Mailer Configuration
    4. Select Error-Preferences.
Enter in the To Address you wish to send the notifications. (This must be a valid address)
Enter in the From Address you wish to display on the message notification. (This can be any address of your choosing. It does not have to be a valid address).
You may choose to have the Event Log sent with the notification if you choose. This may be helpful to see exact details of the error and may provide Reload Technical support an easier method to view the logs.
    5. Go ahead an enable the Error Notification (optional)
    6. Select Completion-Preferences
Enter in the To Address you wish to send the Backup Completion notifications. (This must be a valid address)
Enter in the From Address you wish to display on the message notifcation. (This can be any address of your choosing. It does not have to be a valid address).
Again you may choose to have the Even log mailed to you upon completion.
    7. Enable the Completion Notification.

Note: You must enable both Completion and Errors as well as configure both with the same addresses in order for this to work.

To test to see that it is actually working you may run the Error-Test and the Completion-Test. That will send a test message to the e-mail address you entered into the Mail Configuration.
