Environment
Reload (all versions)
SLES 9.3+
SLES 10
NSS Volumes
Situation
Permission denied when testing profile.
Resolution
This often happens when GroupWise is installed on a NSS partition on the SuSE Linux Enterprise Server machine.
The easiest way to get around this is to use a NetWare profile rather than a Linux profile in Reload. This way the connection is made using NCP protocol. No NFS setup is required in this case; however, it requires that NCPFS be installed on the Reload server.
NFS is a higher performing protocol and backups typically run faster when it is used. Most customers successfully use the NFS mount even when using NSS volumes on their GroupWise server; thus, if it the "Linux" profile type (NFS) is not working, you may want to consider upgrading to SLES 11 SP2 or SP3 and trying again.
