Situation

Why does my server become unresponsive/freeze when I access files on my NFS share?

Resolution

There is a bug in the SLES 11 SP3 kernel for NFSv4 which causes the server to freeze. Patching to the latest kernel revision (>3.0.101-0.47.52) will resolve the issue.
