D101 Errors On Deleted GroupWise Mailbox

Situation


I deleted a user account in GroupWise and refreshed the address book in Retain; however, when the archive job runs, it tries to archive the deleted mailbox.  How do I prevent this from happening?

Resolution


The Retain Worker polls the POA for the user list when running a job against an entire post office(s).  The POA looks them up in the wphost.db and returns the list to Retain.  Retain uses that list as its work order and begins logging in to each mailbox one at a time. 

If Retain is attempting to login to a mailbox you deleted in the GroupWise system and thus causing the job to produce d101 errors , the user is probably listed in the wphost.db but the user database for that account has been properly removed.  Check for the user database.  If it is missing as it should be, then the first thing to do is to rebuild the Post Office database.  This would obviously have to be done after hours because the POA has to be shut down.
