Retain on NSS Volumes

Situation

Customer could not import a Retain license file (*.pem).  The retain storage directory and all its subdirectories (including the license directory) were stored on a mounted NSS volume.

Resolution

Resolution:
Retain is heavily dependent upon directory and file ownership as well as permissions.  Because of that, storing Retain data on NSS volumes is not supported.

In this customer's case, a new directory was created on the local drive of the Linux server called "license" and "tomcat" was assigned as the owner of it.  Next, the asconfig.cfg file was modified to point that new directory.  This resolved the problem.
