Environment

NetIQ PlateSpin Migrate 9.x, 11.x, 12.x

Situation

A server sync job to a physical machine fails during the Sending Files and Receiving Files stage with the error message, ERROR: "Cannot find volume size for mountpoint /dev/...".

Resolution

Disable multipathing on the target.
On the PlateSpin server, go to https://localhost/platespinconfiguration (or http://localhost/platespinconfiguration) in a web browser.
Look for the setting FileTransferTCPTimeOutMilliSec, change its value to 300000, and save the change.
Rerun the job.

Cause

Mulitpathing on the target is not supported.
The session could be timing out, or it could be that packets are being dropped or blocked.

Additional Information

On the target machine booted with the PlateSpin LRD/ISO, press Alt+F7 and run fdisk -l to verify if the disks seen by the LRD/ISO accurately reflect what the target machine truly has.
