Environment

NetIQ PlateSpin Forge 4.x, 11.x
NetIQ PlateSpin Migrate 11.x, 12.x
NetIQ PlateSpin Protect 10.x, 11.x

Situation

When trying to configure a workload's replication settings for the first time from the Migrate/Protect/Forge web interface, an error message, ERROR: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object", appears below the list of targets.
When setting up a job from the Migrate Client, the job configuration window doesn't display after selecting the source and target, the same error message, ERROR: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object", appears.

Resolution

One or more partitions on the source workload that are mounted more than once need to be unmounted so that the partition or partitions in question are not mounted more than once.  The system administrator of the source workload should be consulted before making any changes to the source workload.

Cause

This can occur if one or more partitions on the source workload are mounted more than once.

Additional Information

On the source workload, run the command mount to find out what is mounted and find the partition or partitions are mounted more than once.
The file /etc/mtab on the source workload reveals the same information as well.
