Environment

Novell GroupWise Mobility Server 2014 / R2

Situation

In a mobility-agent log file (DEBUG) you can find a deviceID used by a user when he syncs his mobile device, example:

2017-01-06 09:13:33.908 INFO [Device_Thread-11] [DeviceInterface:353] [userID:] [eventID:] [objectID:] [Server] reqParameters: {'Cmd': 'Sync', 'DeviceType': 'SAMSUNGSMG800F', 'User': 'user1-r2', 'DeviceId': 'SEC18EED51EBD61A'}
The same DeviceID SEC18EED51EBD61A is listed in a user account when viewing it from webadmin console.

Resolution

In case you have multiple devices linked to a GMS account, you want to be sure that activity mentioned in logs are actually coming from your physical device.
In case of example above it is a Samsung device and the DeviceID used by GMS can be found in settings of the mail account. Get on a device, Mail -> Manage Accounts ->  More Settings -> down to Exchange server settings -> there is Mobile device ID.
Similarly on iOS device, search for Exchange server settings -> Settings -> Mail -> Accounts. If you click on Add Account -> Exchange, then on the screen you find the new Exchange Device ID.
