Shared address books do not show complete list when switching back and forth

The reporting customer has two large address books that are shared with many users throughout the company.  They select a handful of addresses from the first shared book to a new mail message.  Then they switch to the second shared book and select a few names from that book.  Then they switch back to the first shared book and not all of the names are displayed.
