Environment
NetIQ Access Manager 4.0.0 Windows Admin Console
NetIQ Access Manager 4.0.0 Windows Identity Server
NetIQ Access Manager 4.0.0 Access Gateway Appliance
Situation
Identity server cluster with 3 nodes.
4. On Admin console, C:\Program Files (x86)\Novell\logs\app_sc.0.log shows below:
1. The status on one of the Identity servers was showing
"Pending" and Health was in red and showing "Halted".
2. On this Identity Server, C:\Program Files
(x86)\Novell\Tomcat\logs\stderr.log shows only up to below
state:
INFO: Server startup in 182621 ms
Dec 19, 2016 5:15:56 AM com.novell.jcc.client.JCCClientImpl sendQueuedAlerts
3. On this Identity Server, C:\Program Files (x86)\Novell\devman\jcc\logs\jcc-0.log.0 shows below:INFO: sending 2 queued alert(s) to jcc server
INFO: Stopping service Tomcat
Dec 19, 2016 3:56:54 AM com.novell.jcc.server.JCCServerImpl main
INFO: shutdown complete
Dec 19, 2016 3:56:54 AM com.novell.jcc.server.JCCServerImpl shutdown
INFO: Already shutdown.
4. On Admin console, C:\Program Files (x86)\Novell\logs\app_sc.0.log shows below:
2214633(D)2016-12-19T05:28:13Z(L)application.sc.bgProcess(T)75(C)com.volera.vcdn.application.sc.health.HealthEventListener(M)eventOccurred(P)idp-18AB0E632FA2A32E,Halted(Msg)Health status received from device idp-18AB0E632FA2A32E. Status Halted.
5. In spite of the above
log messages, Tomcat and JCC services status show "Running" from
windows machine.
6. Restarting Tomcat, JCC does not help to change the health status.
Resolution
1. Click on the server showing "Pending" status. Then go to
"Command Status" tab. Check for any commands which are in "Pending"
status. Select and delete all such commands which are in Pending
state.
2. Now, the Identity Server state changes from "Pending" to
"Update". But the health would still show "Halted" in red.
3. Restart JCC, Tomcat services on this Identity Server and
then the health would show all the services in green.
