Environment

NetIQ AppManager Enterprise 9.1

Situation

When attempting to login to Operator Console, the option for SQL Authentication is greyed out.

Resolution

Disabling FIPS allows the use of SQL Authentication in Operator Console.

You can disable FIPS through the registry by navigating to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\FIPSAlgorithmPolicy and changing the value for Enabled to decimal 0

Cause

If the value under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\FIPSAlgorithmPolicy\Enabled is set to 1 (meaning FIPS is enabled), Operator Console will have SQL Authentication disabled.
