Environment

Various Linux distributions.

Situation

When following the steps described in knowledge base article, 7005990 - Linux Driver Injection to Ramdisk ISO, X2P Driver Package and Source Take Control Package Creation Instructions the following error appears:

genisoimage needs to be 64 bit version 1.1.11-23 or later in order to build EFI-aware ISOs

Resolution

Build the Linux driver disk in a supported environment as documented in knowledge base article 7005990.   Please note that distributions not listed may work (i.e., Ubuntu 14.04), but are not supported by PlateSpin.

Cause

Per knowledge base article referenced above, the version of genisoimage installed in the boot ISO build environment does not provide proper support for EFI environments.
