Environment

NetIQ eDirectory
NetIQ Identity Manager 4.0.2
NetIQ Identity Manager 4.5

Situation

While trying to modify and save changes to a driver in an existing driverset, the error -631 "A replica needed to perform this function is not found" is returned.

Resolution

Ensure that the server that the driverset is associated to has at least a read/write replica of the driverset partition, as well as, each of the partitions the users are contained in and that they are in an ON state.  Verify that time is in sync and that the replica rings are synchronizing without any errors.  If all of the above is correct and there are no errors, remove the servers from the driverset one by one and test to see if the changes are able to be saved.  Make sure to leave at least one server associated to the driverset.

Cause

For some reason, the data for the server association to the driverset became corrupted or was otherwise incorrect.  After removing the server from the driverset and re-adding it, the association was corrected and the changes to the driver were able to be saved successfully.
