NetIQ Sentinel Server

NetIQ Sentinel Agent Manager

Situation

How can I tell what version of Sentinel I am running.

Resolution

Sentinel 


Use versionreader.sh

1. log into a Sentinel ssh session.

2. Go to  /opt/novell/sentinel/bin 

3. type ./versionreader.sh

4. enter

5. the Sentinel version will be displayed.


OR

Use rcsentinel

OR


1. log into a Sentinel ssh session

2. type "rcsentinel version"

3. The Sentinel version will be displayed. 

OR


Use the Sentinel web interface 

1. Open the Sentinel web interface

2. go to help > about

3. popup window will display the Sentinel version. 

Note: this method will only work for the Sentinel core box. 



Sentinel Agent manager (SAM)


Use the agent manager console


1. Open the agent manager console

2. click help > about configuration 

3. popup window will display the Sentinel agent manager version.


Check the registry key

1. go to start/run and type regedit

2. go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NetIQ\Security Manager

3. In the right pane see the ServiceVersion data value.
