Environment

Novell GroupWise 2014
GroupWise 18

Situation

With the release of GroupWise 2014 R2, we have seen increasing issues with the GroupWise client hanging, or running slowly.  The first thing to do is to contact MicroFocus Technical Services for the latest GroupWise FTF client.  If that does not resolve the issues with hanging or slowness, you will need to provide a Windows Dump file.  Due to the fact that the GroupWise 2014 client is a 32-bit software application you cannot use the normal Taskmgr program to capture this file.

Resolution

Open taskmgr.exe from the C:\Windows\sysWOW64 directory.  Change to the Processes tab.  Scroll down to the grpwise.exe process.  Right click on this, select Create a Dump file.  You will need to zip this file with the SR number of your service request.  Then upload it to ftp://ftp.novell.com/incoming.  The user name, if prompted, is anonymous and there is no password.

Let your technician know as soon as this file has been uploaded to the FTP server.
