Environment
Novell Filr 2.0
Novell Filr Desktop client 2.0
Novell Filr Desktop client 2.0
Situation
In some Windows 7 and Windows 10 systems, the initial scan of the flesystem to detect any file changes triggers a series of rename attempts that look like changing the file/folder names to all uppercase even though there are no actual renames or case changes to process.
For example, messages like this may appear on the Filr console:
Failed to rename the My Files\Customers folder to CUSTOMERS on the server
Failed to rename the My Files\Documents folder to DOCUMENTS on the server

Resolution
A fix for this issue is available in the Filr 2.0 Hot Patch 2, available via the Novell Patch Finder.
Note: The fix will not resolve existing Pending actions to rename. User will have to right-click the folder and choose 'undo local changes' from the Filr menu options for the pending actions to be removed.
