Situation
In situations where upgrading some post offices in a GroupWise system may take longer than the initial post offices and Webaccess has already been upgraded to the latest version, a mechanism must be put in place that allows for a GroupWise Webaccess server to service the older post offices.
NOTE: GroupWise Webaccess can be thought of as a client. Newer clients cannot access older post offices.
Resolution
Install a GroupWise Webaccess server with a version equivalent to the oldest post office versions on a server different from the where the existing newer Webaccess is installed. Then do the following:
1) On the server where the newer Webaccess is installed, modify the webacc.cfg file found in /var/opt/novell/groupwise/webaccess directory on Linux, or C:\Novell\GroupWise\Webaccess directory on Windows.
Add or modify the directive: Redirect.url=<url of the host holding the older Webaccess version/gw/webacc>
Example: Redirect.url=https://oldserver.domain.com/gw/webacc
2) Restart tomcat on the same (newer Webaccess) server
