Situation

Unable to create restore area using a drive on a different server in Windows

* Restore Area "undefined" creation failed

Clicking OK won't save the Restore Area settings when using UNC path

Resolution

  1. Login to the GroupWise admin console and navigate to System | Restore Area Management and click New...
  2. Give the restore area a title in the Name field
  3. In the Path, type something local such as C:\ and click OK
  4. Edit the restore area just created and modify the path to the UNC path as the following format \\ipaddress\path\to\po
  5. Switch to the Membership tab and add the applicable post office or individual users if desired
    Please note: If the network path requires authentication, and the POA process is not running as a user with the same credentials the credentials can be filled out by clicking Post Offices | applicable po | Settings and filling out the Remote User Name and Password
