Environment

NetIQ Access Manager 4.2

Situation

Customer wants to evaluate the Mobile portal with 4.2. We have it installed in a DEV environment but corporate policy doesn't allow us to connect mobile devices to that network. In the past, we had played with the feature by setting up a wifi to allow my phone access to the relevant network but we can't do that here.

Resolution

The following setup with Genymotion worked ...

1.      Installed Genymotion.
2.      Tried various phone types which didn't work but this one did: HTC
One XL - 4.2.2 API 17 720x1280
3.     To install the MobileAccess app needed to download the apk of the
app. A Google search led us to "apkpure.com"
4.      Searched for "NetIQ" and found MobileAccess app. Unfortunately, the
current version didn't seem to work (gave a certificate error when I tried to install it within the emulator). But if you scroll down on the page, you can download an older version - NetIQ MobileAccess_v2.0.4_apkpure.com
5.      Drag and dropped the file onto the emulator and it installed.
6.      Could then register the emulator with the customer's Dev IDP (In
this case I had no issue with trusted roots as their DEV environment used a registered cert)
