Novell GroupWise 2012 Support Pack 3
Situation
GroupWise Monitor Agent will not load on SLES11, has a status of failed or unused when starting with rcgrpwise-ma start.
Resolution
It was found that the monitor.xml file in the /opt/novell/groupwise/agents/share/ directory had the wrong HOME_PATH value for the GroupWise domain it should run against. Once corrected then when you run rcgrpwise-ma start the agent loads correctly.
Additional Information
There was no GroupWise Monitor log file created or written to explaining why the agent would not load, /var/log/novell/groupwise/gwmon/mmddmon.00x.
There was no information in the Tomcat catalina.out file explaining why the agent would not load, /var/opt/novell/tomcat6/logs/catalina.out
There was no information in the /var/log/messages file explaining why the agent would not load.
