Novell Client login script problems with Windows 10 and iPrint Client

Environment

Novell Client 2 SP4 for Windows (IR1)
Microsoft Windows 10
iPrint Client 5.99

Situation

Possible symptoms include:
  • After upgrading the Window 10 and Novell Client 2 SP4 for Windows (IR1) with the iPrint Client version 6.01 or lower installed, the eDirectory login script no longer runs when logging in.
  • Mapped drives are not mapped when logging in.
  • After upgrading to Windows 10, with the iPrint Client v5.99 installed, the Novell Client for Windows presents only the Windows logon option.
  • After upgrading to Windows 10, the error "nwtray.exe has stopped working." appears when the login script begins execution.

Resolution

Upgrade the Novell iPrint Client to version 6.02 or later, which supports Windows 10.
Upgrade the NCP client to Client for Open Enterprise Server 2 SP4 (IR4) or later.

Additional Information

Novell iPrint Client version 6.01 and earlier are not supported on Windows 10, and can introduce unforeseen problems.
